WHY STUDY HISTORY?
WHY IS IT RELEVANT?
"It is commonly acknowledged that an understanding of the past is fundamental to an understanding of the present. The analysis and interpretation of history provide an essential context for evaluating contemporary institutions, politics, and cultures. Understanding the present configuration of society is not the only reason to study the past; history also provides unique insight into human nature and human civilization...The purpose of historical inquiry is not simply to present facts but to search for an interpretation of the past. Historians attempt to find patterns and establish meaning through the rigorous study of documents and artifacts left by people of other times and other places."

ABOUT THE BLOGGER
I am a third-year PhD student in history. My research interests include questions of collecive memory, transitional justice and international relations. You can ask me a question if you are curious!
So bullet journaling has stressed me out so much that I’ve reverted back to a regular diary with weekly spreads and 1 black pen. I have no energy to maintain a journal anymore.
I’ve taken this week off as a break and I’ve visited lots of lovely places (and a lot of coffee shops) but my 6 week revision period starts on Monday ☕ 🌿
To get myself motivated, I’ve ordered a ridiculous bright yellow Leuchtturm that I’m going to use for all of my revision, and printed out all of my quizlets so I can highlight and annotate on them.
I hope you’re all having a beautiful morning/day/night! I’ll be spending the day catching up on some work, hanging with some pals, drinking tea, and listening to the 1975′s new album nonstop. I’ve also been carrying this tiny little journal around with me; its nice to have a little place to jot down any thoughts/mantras or doodle. I used to be so anal about sticking to one journal at a time, but tbh there’s nothing wrong with having more than one for all of your thoughts! this little guy comes in handy when I don’t feel like journaling an entire page.
